“Out with the old and in with the new” 

Micro Pneumatics Ltd are based in Leicester in the heart of the East Midlands and have been manufacturing machinery and equipment for the textile industry for more than 40 years. During this time, they have built an enviable reputation for quality and innovation, combined with excellent product support.

But it has not always been easy times for the Leicester specialist. Like many companies involved in the textiles industry in the 1990’s, they were heavily impacted by a rapid decline in orders and had to ‘hunker down’ with a reduced team to come through this industry downturn.

Then, as is often the case with innovative and well-run businesses, lady luck passed Andy Draper the company MD and his team an opportunity.

To offset the downturn, Andy had rented some of his factory space to a local blinds and curtains manufacturer. This new tenant saw the great machines Micro Pneumatics were making and asked Andy if they might design a vertical blind machine for him as a one off.  Initially Andy focused hard on his core business, but soon agreed to accept the challenge and designed a revolutionary new machine.

Needless to say, the machine was an incredible success, Andy selling 70 of them in the first year alone, including 10 to Australia. It was clear that the team were on to something special with their design – and have not looked back since!

From a telephony perspective, successful companies always have the best tools in order to do the best job. And when it comes to telephone systems, Micro Pneumatics were no longer willing to continue with their outdated system and so gave the team at Evoke a call.

It soon became apparent that the current system delivered little more than telephone calls, and Andy, Rachel and the team wanted much more. Following a visit, some careful scoping and an engineering site audit, Micro Pneumatics decided to commission Evoke to install a new award-winning Ericsson-LG iPECS telephone system.
